Happy Tummy in Vietnam

Hello.. Probably this part  you might be hungry and think about to eat something after you read this. Just for your information, I am a food enthusiast. So, in this chance I don't want to skip every precious time in eating Vietnamese food. Even, in this writing I only put some food which has certain impression for me. Commonly, Vietnam has similar food ingredients with Indonesia, but the difference is the use of the flavour. It has saltier and stronger spice. Okay, without any futherdue let's get hungry.. City Tour

I feel so lucky to have a teaching practicum in HCMUTE. The people, the environment, and the feeling gave me so much positive vibes. I'm so grateful was in there. One of the kindess from the university especially from Faculty of Foreign Language was they provide me and my friends a city tour. We went to some places which have valuable things for Vietnam. They also gave such a great treatment for us to go around the city like minibus, nice local students who accompanied us and also private photographer. There were four places which we visited, such as Ao Dai Museum, War Remnants Museum, Taka Plaza and Landmark 81. Main Gate of Ao Dai Museum First place was Ao Dai Museum. Ao Dai is the traditional clothes of Vietnamese women. First of all I never thought that I will be an English teacher. It was started when I was in Senior High School. One of my English teacher thought me and she inspired me to teach something interesting to the students. Eventually at that time I decided to be an English teacher. Then, I chose English Education Department now known as English Language Education as my major in the university. Here, I got a lot of knowledge and experience to support my future job. I have my own teaching style which emphasize fun and friendly teacher. My teaching style also concern to give more attention to the students. Meanwhile, there are many aspects of my teaching style which should be improved. First, I need to speak not too fast in order to make the students can catch the meaning of my explanation. My Teaching Practice (Pt. 2: 2nd, 3rd and 4th teaching)

On my second teaching practice, I designed the lesson plan and I did many revisions. It is because I got some suggestions from my supervisor. My second teaching practice was on Saturday, March 9 th , 2019. The topic I taught was Unit 9 (Relationships), Lesson B (I’m Really Sorry), Part 2 (Listening). This class has different characteristics from the pervious the one. This class is more passive than Wednesday class. During my teaching I felt that I did not conduct the steps properly because most of students did not give any response to the activity, such as they did not write while the listening section. This is also caused by my instruction was not very clear and I talked too fast, so the students did not understand what I explained. To deal with this situation, I need to improve my explaining skill by talking slower than before and choose the simplest word for the instruction. My Teaching Practice (Pt.1: 1st Teaching)

At the first time making the lesson plan, I saw many differences from the lesson plan I learned before. The difference is based on the format and the components of the lesson plan. It is because the different curriculum used and different needs. But overall the lesson plans have same purpose to guide teacher in conducting the teaching. I need to adapt in deciding the activity at the first time because the students’ condition is different from the students I met before. I need to design activities which can be adjusted by the students here, such as games, group activity which can warm them up into the lesson. I received a lot of suggestion from my supervisor and teaching team for the activity which can be accepted by the students and related to the lesson. I also learned many valuable activities by observing the others’ lesson plans. Teaching demo that I did is also different from my experience before. The real classroom with real students and its own characteristics are different. E

Teaching Preparation

The teaching practicum was conducted by me also has preparation. There are some steps which I did while the teaching practicum, such as preparing lesson plan, consult the lesson plan, then revise the lesson plan, preparing the teaching media, and also practice the scenario. First of all, in preparing lesson plan, I need to take a look on the for the example that my supervisor sent for me. I read the lesson plan given and I try to make my lesson plan based on the topic that I got. At the fist trying, I felt so confused because the lesson plan is different from the lesson plan that I got. So, I need to adjust the lesson that I learned before. Second is consulting the lesson plan. After finishing the draft, I need to consult my lesson plan with my supervisor. There are a lot things that I have to revise, such as the activity, the material and the teaching style. Pedagogical Contents Based on the Observations

            Teaching practicum overseas which conducted in my university has many positive values for my teaching preparation in the future. There are many positive effects that I got from this program such as I know the environment of the classroom, improvement for my teaching style for many types of students and find appropriate the activity used in teaching. First, the classroom environment is different because I thought university students who in pre-intermediate level. It makes me know how to deal with these kinds of students. Second is teaching style used to face university students is different from secondary students. They have their own characteristics in learning English. Third is using appropriate and interactive activity in teaching can help students get into the lessons. In engaging students into the lesson, I need to plan activity which makes students are active to participate in the classroom.  In this section, I want to tell about my findings about pedagogical c
