Brief history
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) in Vietnamese Trường Đại học Sư phạm Kỹ thuật Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh is a university which has program in educating and training technical teachers. In fact, HCMUTE has been renamed several times for some reasons, such as for relation with other schools and its own promotion.
HCMUTE founded on October 5, 1962 which named as the Board of Technical Education and changed in September 1972 as Nguyen Truong To Center for Technical Education. It changed into Thu Duc College of Education in 1974. The SRV Prime Minister declared a decision to set up Thu Duc Education Engineering University. The university combined with the Thu Duc Industrial Vocational School in 1984 and afterward joined the Technical Teacher Training School in 1991 in order become the current Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. In 1995, the university joined Ho Chi Minh City National University as an unofficial member. In 2000, HCMUTE became a member under the supervision of the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training.

Faculty of Foreign Languages
Background
- Before 2007: Department of Foreign Languages (Faculty of Fundamental Sciences)
- 2006: Department of Foreign Languages established the Bachelor’s Technical English Program
- August 4th, 2007: Faculty of Foreign Languages was founded
Basic information
The Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) is one of the faculties in Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education which has four departments and three training activities. FFL has core values to respect the learners, to develop talent and creativity, to build a sustainable learning society, and to cooperate for mutual development. In order to provide requirements which needed by the company and factory, FFL delivers technical English programs. FFL uses curriculum which can support the requirements skill needed.
